Everything is OK in the cohabitation in Seychelles… But is it really?

I apologise to all the readers for missing last week’s issue, but I am a fervent catholic and was strictly observing the period of lent to be ready for Easter.

I cannot be long this week in case I am sued because we have now thrown the Democracy baby away with the bathtub still full of water to the dogs.

“There is freedom of speech, but I cannot guarantee freedom after speech” said Idi Amin. In Seychelles this is translated to freedom after speech with a million rupee defamation claim in court.

Seychelles is on a path for early presidential elections or is it a case of both Danny Faure and Payeye just playing with the Seychellois people. Elections are needed, this is quite clear and Ton Pat has been saying this since last year, but no one believed him. Our country is in a mess, cost of food going through the roof, fuel prices too high, electricity the highest ever and going up again. People are tired of all the talking and now want some actions. For the Off-Shore Sector the LDS showed they were prepared to move decisively, let us now see the same approach for the poor and suffering Seychellois. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

The youth of the country who now dominate the voting register have been meeting and by a large majority are saying they feel disconnected with the Government of Danny Faure and the Opposition of Payeye aka Wavel Ramkalawan. Too much harbouring on matters that changes nothing in today’s reality. For example, looking at Air Seychelles contracts does nothing for the staff being fired. Stop with the “bla bla” and show us intelligent solutions being put forward as alternatives. Vote for a supplementary budget to keep Air Seychelles flying and keep staff in their job would be a start LDS can do only if they want to do it. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Ambulance Drivers want their share of a better life and they are right. We have just finished budget time, and NO ONE brought an amendment to the tabled propositions by Peter Larose to ask for better conditions for these dedicated workers. Stop with talking all the time, we need straight action on what have been in discussions in OUR ASSEMBLY for our benefit. Now we have The Assembly for MNAs that is punishing us with increased costs everywhere. LDS could stop the suffering but it is not. They gave away gold for the rich boys in Offshore sector and only BS for the ordinary people. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Today he blesses a dead body and the very next day he tears into people who cannot attack him as he sits with full immunity of the National Assembly Members. This reminds us of the old Kings who use to say “King Can Do No Wrong”. Recently, it was Valabhjee, before that Jules Hoareau then someone else and the list is so long and every time with his venom, hatred, anger and vengeance that is making the country angry and the people frustrated. This is a guy who wears a robe let alone in office as our unelected representative. The youth of today do not appreciate such style as it encourages ‘destruction’ instead of ‘constructing’. Such old style and approaches are not for us – SORRY. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Payeye is suing some Seychellois. We were so shocked to hear this. The person who professes to defend the right to free speech is the person who says a lot behind the walls of total immunity in the National Assembly. Remember Leo the Turtle, or Cato Ver and remember the public speeches at election time all that was said for defending right of speech - this cannot be the same Payeye. He must be a born again Payeye now with dictatorial ambitions or feelings. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

The effect of the “pis en li” flowers used in the garlands are being assessed by scientists. Some reactions are immediate whilst others have delayed reactions. Payeye was nearly choked by these flowers and the effects he suffered can have long term consequences. Desire for money is a possible effect, dropping of robes and attachments to skirts is something else, feeling like the all mighty is another consequence. Another National Assembly Committee is needed to discuss this. I propose Florry Larue as Chairperson so she can get this big Chairman allowance as well. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Another new political party is on its way. This one is a breakaway group from LP. Interesting times for Seychelles. This news came to light in Les Mamelles at a party as many were dancing the night away. Other three previous groups are all LDS splinter groups. The big business man, the two lawyers and the Youth graduates group all tired of Payeye. Plus Ton Pat himself who has been hard at work we hear. Democracy is now at work and Seychelles will come out the winner. I was an Alexia supporter and can say I am disappointed at the National Assembly representative we got. Nothing about it being Our Assembly it is all for the elected people. Bigger salary than ever before and to get it they also approve for the President and Ministers. Just for themselves and nothing for the poor Seychellois. I and so many are upset and disappointed. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Assomption Island rocked the political elite. Some were lavishly dined at H-Hotel as everyone is trying to make peace with the Indians or to be convinced by them. Others are playing borderline corruption as a house is said to have also been rented by the man who went on air to tell Seychelles we needed the Indians on Assomption. National Assembly could question this when the going gets tough, and it will get tough. Friendly advice from my Sister Pretty K is to terminate this lease now. But corruption is ripe as it is Jack Fruit season. Tata Busses, Fire Brigade trucks and more and more are coming and the Indian Press is on this manipulative manoeuvre. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

STC was discussed and nothing came out except from some Afif and Henri proposals. Peter Larose rose above everyone and the staffs was calm knowing they will still have a job. Can it be the determination to help friends in the retail business that is pushing some to closed STC? This seems farfetched but a possibility nevertheless. Peter Larose you are welcome at the Hypermarket anytime and the staff will appreciate your visit. Those who acted as Judas please stay away. MNA for Bel Air passed me in an aisle as he was happily shopping last week watched by staff and shoppers who only said an LDS who does not want our Hypermarket. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Ste Anne Beachcomber staff are surprised that their case was never raised. There is anger that this has not been brought up and do not be surprised when many who lost their job will testify at the Seychelles Big Million Rupee Trial coming soon. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Jules Hoareau what did he do wrong? A respected Seychellois who does so much for Seychelles and in his line of duty crosses path with Payeye is considered a crime in this era of co-habitation. Jules hear this – praise Payeye, glorify Payeye, honour Payeye is a must today. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Karunakaran blew his top off and did not offer an apology. Seychelles was rather shocked to hear the attack of an Indian National employed at the Attorney General’s office by one of his kind. We play with fire we get burnt except this is costing Seychelles over a hundred thousand rupees per month to keep the flame alive. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

That is all for today. I am so so scared about being sued these days because the man can’t stand any criticism. My sister Pretty K says not to worry, he is the old dog who has been overfed and can hardly walk because he is so fat now and just gets irate at everything.  Can the National Assembly discuss money, not for MNAs but for people who put them in that Chinese edifice and Wavel is not grateful to them?  We shall have 6 more cents per unit on our electricity bill, look at the fuel cost. Present a motion to tell Government electricity will not go up by 6 cents per unit and for fuel a motion to say it should be at rupees fifteen per litre. If Danny refuses to accept your motion it will be on his head. See how PL MNAs will dance because this will be a way to see if they are willing to defend the People or support their masters.  Check the Hunt Deltel and Land Marine monopoly and their charges at Port Victoria it is against all fair-trading regulations. This by itself will reduce cost of food immediately. Show us you have balls. Please do something for us for a change and not only for yourself; like the BIG Salaries you voted to have, your pension age, your duty-free cars, your allowance and more. Split personality is the new disease hitting the leaders. Danny is confused; when he is Danny and when he is the President and so often in his Press Conference he talks about the President as if it is somebody else.  Now Payeye is showing he is also being affected by that same deficiency causing confusion. A message for Easter could not be more than contradiction to the litany of insults targeted at the Seychellois from the National Assembly. We have sought expert advice on this matter and sent different statements for analysing. We shall get back to you.

Blondy please stop harassing the old man of my sister Pretty K. You have become a real pain in the proverbial. Stop please stop. Now he has to bring back duty-free for you and you even dictate the perfume you want. What will the Madame of the House and my Pretty K get because his allowance is taken over by your demands? Until next week,

Ugly B.
