Ahmed Afif Of Lalyans Seselwa Fights Back!

Ahmed Afif

I note the response of this day by State House rebutting the validity of information we have received concerning some planned ambushes against key members of Lalyans Seselwa. The statement further urges me to substantiate these allegations.

For many reasons, however, I will not divulge the sources of my information as I cannot and will not compromise the safety and security of my sources. How can I trust the security services when to this date they have not resolved cases involving direct attacks against pets and property of members of Lalyans Seselwa as well as the opposition in the period leading to the Presidential elections? At least 9 dogs of two opposition party leaders were killed in 2 separate incidents at their residential premises within a space of a few days only recently. At my home, I have noticed on several occasions in the recent weeks, vehicles said to belong or operated by the state security apparatus either tailing me or parked close to my residence. The occupants of these vehicles look hostile and threatening which I suppose is part of the intimidation campaign which has failed miserably.

One well known member of the security services, who was the subject of a recent arrest and subsequently released, openly said to our campaigners that after the elections he will personally strangle me to death. In the case of my wife who is an active member of Lalyans Seselwa, she has been openly threatened by activists of LP in their LP t-shirt at her working place. We have reported it to the Police and to this date, nothing has been done or heard from the authorities.

LP’s rag People Plus along with their social media smear group Dan Lari Bazar has openly made grave allegations against me including being involved in the drugs trade all of which are spurious, without factual basis and without precedent. In the case of the leader of Lalyans Seselwa, the state ordered his arrest against allegations that appear to have been fabricated with the object of harassing, creating fear and intimidating him. Do they expect that as opposition leaders, we should now take these new reports lightly and not inform the public of what we view as serious threats? It is not sufficient for the state to just deny those reports.

I urge them if they wish to show some semblance of credibility, to resolve the reported cases of attacks against opposition leaders especially those in Lalyans Seselwa and to report publicly on what steps they have taken so far to stop the campaign of terror and intimidation against citizens who are fighting for a better life free of corrupt practises and discrimination. I also urge them to stop fabricating lies about opposition leaders in a way which is malicious and politically motivated especially in the run up to the forthcoming elections. I also eagerly await to see if this statement receives the same attention by the official state media which did not even bother to contact me before reading out a statement from the authorities reacting to a matter which we raised in the first place.

It is a fact that the state apparatus and the party are one and the same which is why a regime change is needed!

  4. Mr Afif,

The guy who said that he would strangle you after the election is well known by every body and his name starts with M. He would be the one who would go into hiding because he has to answer for strangling Eulentin with an engine block tied around his neck and dumped his body in the sea at Roche Caiman. The evidence has been suppressed like in the drug case onboard the army vessel. Ask PL Police Commisioners Kilindo and WayeHive who were there when the murder occurred.
God forbid what a Truth and Reconciliation process will reveal, the Seychelles cannot carry on living under a dark cloud, it has to come clean and ask for forgiveness or it will never be island of paradise but it will always be island of horror!.

  6. The quick rebuttal by Office of the President in the Nation newspaper shows that the allegation touches the nerve centre of LP. What a joke for ending their communique "present their evidence so that the police can forthwith initiate a criminal investigation in the matter”
My answer to this is a saying by Abraham Lincoln "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time,"

During after the coup...it change to "Kamarad".........O'zordi ki nou pe vwar.......
Then came....."Mon ban'n Zanmi"..................Zot pe fer nou kwar....

Recently I no longer hear the above.......
I only hear ...." Cher Frer Ser Selwa".............Nou pou.....

I am wondering after 40 years when PL will be over what will be the new slogan?

  9. After following the last two months of SABOULE I came to the conclusion the Mr Ahmed and company are wrong for not staging an alliance with SNP as the good doctor requested. This doctor knows real well how PL operates and that was the reason behind that.Saying that doesn't make me an SNP supporter. I'm all for change and change must done the first round especially when you deal with someone that has been in power for almost 4 decades. Mr Pillay will agree with me for the first time!
LS think that they can take over 50 percent plus from PL and hope they can take another 50 from SNP since Ramka boycotted the last election! And that will make them 50+1 percent. Hope they are right! Good Luck!

Dan lot kote laba: SNP think that their normal 44 to 46 percent of votes are still there! And they are so confident they can take another 10 to 15 percent from PL! And that will take them 50+1 percent too! We shall see if "The time is now" Lately there were more cart boards then people during their meeting!

  11. Pl is in disarray and Mchel loss in his disillusion as always---Pillay named Afif as his vice........however,listening to Amsbury...it shows that both Pillay and Amsbury sahres community----hence,i personally think,,that Pillay should have opted for Amsbruy as Vice Presdient ...in order to sealed the opposition unity....though Afif is not to be underestimated..

  12. Michel is walking in the mine fields he has created since he took over from RENE.Michel though he was going to be faced by this stooge Oppostion SNP/PDM,,,which pushed him to tell Mauritius newspaper(I am going to win ,,there isno opposition"--Michel was taken by surprised by Pillays momentum.Like a lion in a cage,Michel is furiously trying to save his life span...but the fact is everything show that Michel defeat is inevitable ....the table is about to turn..and not even intimidation, harrasmemnt would make a dent of this coming change.

Michel could choose to do like Ghaddafi ,namely use violence witzh thw hope he could svave his ass ..but if he choose gaddafi s ways he must also be ready to face the people focre which might lead him to face peotic justice and end as swewagw rat like gaddafi....
He could choose to do like Ben Ali ,escape to dictators heaven in Suadi Arabia....he could exile to Cuba,,,,,,but if he makes the mistake of gaddafi ,he surely would end as a stray dog
In faxct ,should Michel opt to facing justice than harassment ,his change of survival is greater ,,ofr the former wouold definitively be a long process which might help him because of his failing age escape sentence..while violence might entice violence which would means his end.

  13. Pl will be over in December ...nothing shows the contrary ..unless Michel organized a coup ,which this time would be crush by force and he will lost his life.
Michel harras his opponents ,,,,as if power belongs to him and he was sent by God to rule Seychellois for eternity....
A president Michel is the servant of the people .not their masters ,,and as such tthe people make and undo a President.....
Seychellois are free individuals and the dignity cannot be raped by one half brain donkey like you Michel ...you accept this fact or face lethal consequences......
Trying to keep yourself by fraud on power ,,will cost you your little donkey life Michel.......

  14. Independent Observer,
The real problem why the opposition is going into the election as an individual front and not as one United Front, is because of Ramkalawan's obstinacy. He believes that he is the one and only one that should be Presidential Candidate even he loses a hundred times, and that SNP belongs to him and he is the permanent leader until death. He should have had the courage and dignity to propose someone else to be the 'common' leader for the coming election instead of pushing himself once again to be that leader. By showing unselfishness every body would have praised him and probably nominate him as candidate for vice-president and that would have united every body.

    ReplyDelete
  15. This is my followup comment. I don't believe for a second that Ramkalost will take the spot of Vice-President.In the event of a second round Ramka would rather join forces with the other Parties instead of LS! End of the day he will again les tombe! and the time will be over instead of now!

  16. We shall see if PL can still do the Adacadabra.

In the meantime they are counting how many foreign Seselwa that will vote for opposition are in the country. PL made a bad mistake, lot of "Seselwa Replante" as Gill alias Totof used to call are already in to cast their ballot even though airfare at that time is high!

My best bet is a LS and Amsbery will be a good coalition anything else might be a disaster. If SNP join LS, just remember what happened to Elizabeth of DP year back! Again if oppositions are all for reconsiliation I guest ALL should be in the system. It reminded me a story about frer torti ek kousoupap!

  17. I agree with you there, RAM is the embodiment of instrumentalism, his existentialists concerns are about him, his ego is just too big and way past his sell-by date. I for one has been a staunch ally of SNP, unfortunately I do not dare hope anymore when the semblance of change is shrouded in déjà vu. An impetus of new thinking not old but veiled under the cloak of progressivism. Layans appears to offer a much more plausible way out the PL stranglehold. RM

We were not allowed to ask questions why this happened or else you will be put in Union Vale Prison.Lot of us fled our country without saying goodbye to our closest friends and relatives.
Yes we will be back for the election to vote out the same bandits who stole the country and it will be 14069 days when we will say bye PL alias SPUP. It will be 38 years,6 months and 7 days. May be Christopher Gill of the Racine Party can be more accurate because he is good at counting PL Pension.

I will advice the oppositions to talk the creole language and not English.

I am waiting for Pillay to ask Jam, show me the money or I'll show you the door.

Please to not ask any question about how is the fish plantation going on.

I don't want the world to laugh at us again.we got enough recently, lot of foreign fishing company came to the Seychelles to find out. They even want to assist PL with the Plant.

Latest news is that Madanm Amesbury looks very Kosto with his man on her side.

  25. Now that the election is fast approaching, let us reflect on the political situation in Seychelles in the 80's. There were so many mistrust in the land, there were division amongst families and friends. The State encouraged children to spy on their parents, consequently parents could not even trust their own family members or friends and no one dare speak to one another. The whole nation was clamped up - that was Communist doctrine that Albert Rene, James Michel and gang imposed on Seychellois.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Least we forget and the politicians do not forget it in their manifestos, let us reiterate what a previous blogger wrote on the political situation in Seychelles in the 80's.
"No one would leave home unless home chased you to the shore.
Unless home told you to quicken your legs, leave your everything behind.
Unless home told you to leave if you do not like, as President Rene said.
Then you crawl through the Airport, wade through the oceans if need be, knock doors of embassies, look for entry visas, be hunger, beg, jobless, homeless, forget pride, your survival is more important".

  27. There is no oil politic this coming election because the traditional drilling for fossil oil is presently dead with the arrival of shale oil on the market. This is why James Michel has changed his tune to planting fish as a blue economy. They have conned Seychellois for too long with assertion of oil just beyond St. Anne island, and selling of exploration zones to international bidders. Some even promoted the fantasy of the riches, live like the Arabian Princes - no work, luxury yachts, cars, dancing, celebrations and foreign workers to do their daily chores and some have already started!
The reality, off-shore drilling for oil does not make economical sense any more.
Several projects for oil exploration in Africa have been stopped and surely there would be financial repercussion in some ways. Oil has never been a blessing for many African countries and equally true for Seychelles.

  28. Gill boycotted one more time, this dude could be the President by now with Pti Pol as his right hand man. He could save people of Sesel thousands and probably million of rupees that PL always steal under our nose. We stood by him now he rather count Pension of PL and presented fake numbers just like his fake Party (SFP)

Even James Michelle knows he is a first class faker. StAnge told JAM don't worry about this dog at the Eco Hotel,he just make noise with his keyboard 24 hours. If he barks too much just give him another Plaque with some plastic chairs so he can feel up the space at the park tortie.

  34. Reading Mancham's letter to the editor 'La democratie a la creole' makes no sense. One would ask why there is the need to keep that window of opportunity to slowly achieve national reconciliation? why Seychellois have to tolerate Michel's whims and foot dragging towards change? After all, if it was not for Mancham and Rene to mess up the political stability in the country, Seychelles would be a different place today and we would not have to deal with National Reconciliation.
